Wedding-eve party, continued
Barry bought this sweatshirt on the spur of the moment, since he was, reasonably enough, not expecting the kind of nippy weather we had for our wedding. He comes by the logo honestly, though; he and I went to college together at the University of Arizona, where he graduated with a degree in architecture.
Barry took a lot of the photos on our wedding pages and he's got his own website devoted to photography, StarShootersFoto.com, check it out.
Nadia's dad, Munawwar. Munawwar is an engineer who has done some pretty amazing things for his family.
Nadia's mother Shaheen, whom I visited in Pittsburgh earlier this year. Shaheen is a beautiful woman and mother and has a heart as big as the ocean.
My brother Kelly and my sister-in-law Theresa. Kelly is a forester and mountaineer; we've climbed some pretty big mountains together, he and I. Theresa is an artist with a thriving business doing murals, faux, and tromp l'oeil in the homes of the California elite. They've been married since I got out of the army.
Stella is my other sister-in-law, married to my eldest brother Ed. Stella has always made me feel like her real brother.
Ed's one of the smartest and most knowledgeable people I know; he once wrote a book on how to buy a car. His day job has to do with selling cars and running car dealerships, which is pretty smart, when you think about it.
David is my nephew and also my Godson. He's a senior in college, a talented artist like his mom and brilliant, athletic, and good-looking, like all the Fike men.
Here's a toast to all of you, our families, our friends, the people that we love and that love us. You made our wedding truly the best day of our lives. Thank you.
